There’s always a lot of talk about the Tyrannosaurus Rex whom has been found to have lived in North American about 65 million years ago but the hype surrounding this beastly dinosaur sometimes might make us forget about some of the other completely mammoth dinosaurs. The largest dinosaur ever found in South America, for instance, is called the Giganotosaurus.

I think the name speaks for itself pretty well, this was a big dinosaur. Giganotosaurus lived in what is now Argentina somewhere around 99 million years ago. In 1993 a 70 percent complete skeleton of the dinosaur was found. It’s been hard for scientists to pin down the exact size of the dinosaur but it has been estimated to have been 39 to 43 feet long and 4.6 to 15.2 tons in weight.
