Buddhism is a religion that was established first in India and eventually spread to other areas of Asia. Buddha is the main being whose teachings began Buddhism. This religion includes the Four Noble Truths and rebirth. Religions spread to other countries based on trading. When merchants traveled to different countries, they brought their beliefs and would discuss them to the customers.

Buddhism eventually spread to Japan from Korea. This seemed easy due to those two countries being located so close together. Buddhism spread to Japan during the 6th century. Now, Shinto is the main religion in Japan. However, the Japanese are allowed to choose their own religion. There are several religions that are practiced in Japan including Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and Judaism.
