Mountains are certain landforms that are easily to spot because they tower over the land that is around it. Mountains are known for having specific features. They are located in higher elevations that usually become covered in snow due to this altitude. Mountains have a peak in which they come to a point at the top. They are sometimes rocky and surrounded by trees and hills.

There are three types of mountains which are the volcanic mountains, fold mountains and block mountains. Volcanic mountains are dangerous in that they may erupt. The other two mountains form by the tectonic plates bump into one another or by a fault. Some popular mountain chains include the Swiss Alps and the Appalachian Mountains.
