Although some claims that there is an additional continent called Zealandia, the official number of continents in the world is still 7. Asia is the most populated country with more than 4 billion people and the largest in area which covers 44,391,162 square kilometers. Africa comes 2nd in both population and area with more than 1 billion people and 30,244,049 square kilometers in population and area respectively. Europe has a total population of more than 700 million people and covers an area of 10,354,636 square kilometers.
North America has a population of more than 500 thousand people and covers an area of 24,247,039 square kilometers. South America has a population of more than 400 million people and covers an area of 17,821,029 square kilometers. Australia has a population of more than 23 million and covers an area of 7,686,884 square kilometers. Antarctica doesn’t have any permanent residents and covers an area of 14,245,000 square kilometers.
