The answer to this question differs if we are going to talk about the smallest country in Africa in terms of land area or population. The answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE because the smallest country in Africa in terms of land area and population is Seychelles with an area of 451 square kilometers and a population of more or less than 97 thousand people. However, for the purpose of answering the question using the given choices, the answer would be letter B or Gambia in terms of land area and A or Swaziland in terms of population.

Madagascar has a land area of 587,041 square kilometers, Lesotho has an area of 30,335 square kilometers, Swaziland has an area of 17,364 square kilometers and Gambia has an area of 10,380 square kilometers. In terms of population, Madagascar has a total population of 23,043,000 people, Gambia has 2,022,000 people, Lesotho 1,908,000 people and Swaziland has 1,119,000 people.
