The continent that is directly below the United States on a map is South America. This continent has an area of approximately 17,840,000 square kilometers and with a population of more than 410 million people. The countries located in South America are as follows:

Brazil with cities such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Manaus, Curitiba, Recife, Porto Alegre, Belem, Goiania, Guarulhos, Campinas, Sao Luis, Sao Goncalo and Macelo, Peru with cities such as Lima, Callao, Arequipa, Trujillo and Chiclayo, Colombia with cities such as Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Barranquilla, Chile with cities such as Santiago and Puento Alto, Venezuela with cities such as Caracas and Maracaibo, Argentina with cities such as Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Ecuador with cities such as Guayaquil and Quito, Bolivia with cities such as Santa Cruz de la Sierra and El Alto, Uruguay with cities such as Montevideo and Paraguay with cities such as Asuncion.
