From the given choices, we can say that Croatia has nine regions. In reality, however, Croatia has different regions designated as coastal, inland, island, mainland, northern and southern. These regions are: Istra which is the largest peninsula in Croatia and is shaped like a triangle, Dalmatia which includes several islands and mountains, Kvarner Gulf where some of the largest island in Croatia can be found,

Gorski Kotar which is a mountainous region located between Kalovac and Rijeka, Hrvatso Zagorje which is considered as the maritime region of Croatia proper, Lika which is also a mountainous region but is located in central Croatia, Slavonia which comprises the majority of inlands in eastern Croatia, and Medimurje which is a small region situated between Mura and Drava.
