In 1954, scientists from the RAND Corporation had created this model to illustrate how a home computer could look like in 2004.

Also, scientists have stated that the computer will require not yet invented technology actually to work, but fifty years from that point, scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. With teletype interface and the Fortran language, scientists predicted that the computer would be easy to use. A black and white picture showed a sizeable electronic machine set up and a man in a grey suit standing beside it.

An article from an issue of 1954 Popular Mechanics magazine forecasted the possibility of home computers in 50 years.
