Elephants are the largest land animal in the world. Elephants are found mostly in Africa and Asia. There are two types of elephants: the African bush elephant and the Asian elephant. The African elephant is larger, weighing 13,200 pounds and standing at 10.5 feet tall while the smaller Asian elephant weighs 8,800 pounds and measuring around 9 feet.

African forest elephants are the smallest elephant species measuring 6.5 feet and weighing 4,400 pounds. Elephants are herbivores and eat most forms of plants and leaves. With their large stature, many animals steer clear of elephants, but baby elephants are are normally targeted by predators such as lions, tigers, and hyenas.
