False-the stage is determined based on a combination of the t, n, & m, the combination varies based on the type of cancer. the higher the stage the more advanced the cancer. once the t, n, and m are determined, they are combined, and an overall stage of i, ii, iii, or iv is assigned. for example the stages for breast cancer are: stage 0 = dcis ( ductal carcinoma in situ )stage i = t1, n0, m0stage ii = t 1-3, n1, m0stage iii = any t, n 1-3 m0stage iv = any t, any n, m1see cancer- sorted | procedures
