2-those who chose 1 are tricked. the graph of y = 4x +1 actually intersects the quadratic curve in the positive x region when y = 26.8564 --- this number may be too big to fit into the screen and some scrolling is required to see the actual intersection.one useful way to verify this is by moving 4x + 1 to the left hand side, which gives you (x - 1)^2 - 3 - 4x - 1 = 0, then key in to graphmatica to check for its intersection with the x-axis. this is the preferred method as it prevents confusion.
