The correct answer to this question is D. Cardio-respiratory endurance is a measurement of how well a body's heart, lungs, and muscles work in partnership to keep a person's body active over a period of physical exertion.

In other words, the body's circulatory and respiratory systems are working to absorb, transport, and utilize oxygen and fuel to the skeletal muscles. This type of endurance can be improved through a moderate or high-intensity level of regular aerobic exercise such as running, swimming, and bicycling.

There are five components of fitness; in addition to cardio-respiratory endurance they include muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
