The correct answer to this question is 1954. At nineteen years old, Presley debuted on Grand Ole Opry on October 2, 1954. However, his appearance did not go as expected. He performed Blue Moon Of Kentucky and did so with high energy and a showcasing of rock. Many people today would die to see this show, but the crowd at that time was not impressed with his performance.

The issue was that he was ahead of his time for the genre he was performing, and the audience was not ready for something new. However, Presley had the last laugh because he went on to be one of the greatest rock artists of all time.
