There are many bugs in the world. In some countries, certain bugs are a delicacy and are cooked as a dish. However, in many countries bugs are considered disgusting. It is undecided whether people on average consume about 1 pound of bugs each and every year.
However, it does seem logical because there are insects that are so tiny, that they can’t be seen by the naked eye. There are bugs on our eyelashes even. Those bugs could easily be ingested in the middle of the night especially if you are a person who sleeps with their mouth open.
Plus, there are times when a bug may land on your food and you eat it without knowing it. Therefore, make sure you keep your mouth closed.
Undecided-there are conflicting accounts. Some sites say that it is one pound of insects a year, others say it is in a lifetime although the first appears to be the more popular suggestion, this doesn't necessarily make it the true one! It is mainly due to insects getting ground up in foodstuffs such as chocolate, jam, and tomato ketchup.
