Correct answer is option C – I can’t make such promise.
Confidentiality refers to the protection of patient’s history and information they choose to share with you. It is expected that such information should not be mentioned to others.

However, there are situations where the issue of confidentiality will not hold. This includes information that shows potential harm to self or others. It is best to information such client that you can’t make such promise because if there is need to report such issues, you have to report it.

Take for instance, a patient tells you he is HIV positive, and he is having unprotected sex with his partner, and the patient has refused to inform his partner of his status. It is expected that such information shouldn’t be kept secret.
