A. She doesn t like living so close to the Radley home. She wants to move away when she can. B. She was once married and the home reminds her of her ex-husband. C. She wanted to have a two-story home but couldn t afford it. D. She considers time spent indoors wasted. She prefers to spend as much time as possible working in her garden.
It has been a long time since I read “To Kill a Mockingbird,” but Miss Maudie hates to spend time inside; she’d rather be working on the garden. So, the correct answer is D. However, it’s not necessarily that Miss Maudie hates her house.
She doesn’t like to be indoors, which is understandable. There are people who would rather die before being confined to their home, and there are others that would prefer to stay inside all day. I am one of the latter, but that’s neither here nor there.
As far as why Miss Maudie doesn’t like to be indoors all day, it could be that she’s one of those people who doesn’t understand what there is to do inside other than sleep, eat, cook, and clean (IE chores). I can’t say for certain because I don’t remember the story with her that well.
Option D (She considers time spent indoors wasted. She prefers to spend as much time as possible working in her garden) is the right answer.
I don't think Miss Maudie hates her house, she just doesn't like to be inside, her character enjoys staying outside than being inside. She likes spending as much time working in her garden than staying inside.
