If you have ever worn a silky skirt or light pair of pants, you may have been subjected to the pants leg sticking together. It is a little embarrassing. You will constantly be pushing your pants leg or skirt down. This is because there is static electricity in the clothing.

The cause of this static electricity is that one part of the pant’s leg is very resistant to electric current. There also may be too much of the positive charge on one side of the pant’s leg, but there is the same amount of negative charge on the other side of the pant’s leg. The imbalance is what causes the static electricity.

Also, your hair may stick up if there is static electricity.
