Pop art is a movement that first began in Britain and the United States during the mid to late 1950's. Pop art set forth a challenge to the traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular mass and culture. There are many different forms of pop art. One of its aims is to use images of popular culture in art, most often through the use of irony.

Pop art was also a movement in art when artists began to create art with the subject being things that are iconic, such as famous people. Food is also a favorite image used in art pop. Some examples of pop art include commercially smooth paintings mechanically reproduced silk screens and soft sculptures. Andy Warhol was one of the most famous pop artists. One of his most famous paintings was that of a Campbell's soup can.
