The process of combining vinegar and baking soda to form a chemical reaction produces carbon dioxide and cloudy liquid.Mixing vinegar with baking soda produces a chemical reaction because baking soda is a base and the vinegar is an acid, which if combined produces an acid-base reaction.

If these two ingredients are mixed, the hydrogen ions (component in the vinegar) will react with the sodium bicarbonate ions (component in the baking soda), resulting two a chemical reaction that produces sodium acetate and carbonic acid, which will decompose and form a bubble in the form of a cloudy liquid.

Bubbles of carbon dioxide will rapidly form and a cloudy liquid will be left behind if vinegar is missed with baking soda.
