Had earth been a cube instead of being a sphere, gravity would have been strongest at the centre of the earth. All the water and atmosphere would have been situated at the centre of the earth as strong gravitational pulls would have drawn them there. The edges of the planet would have been left with no water or atmosphere. So the corners of the earth would have turned into lifeless rocky areas and only the centre would have remained habitable.
