Farquhar is hanged.

Farquhar does not actually escape, so a can be eliminated. While Farquhar does try to destroy the Owl Creek Bridge and is caught, this does not resolve his conflict with Union soldiers, so c can be eliminated. Farquhar did dream of escaping, but that does end his conflict. Therefore, b can be eliminated. Farquhars conflict was with the Union army. The conflict was ended or resolved when he was hanged for his actions, so d is the correct answer.
