What should the first baseman do? There is a runner on third with no outs. The game is tied in the bottom of the last inning of regulation play. (This is the 6th inning in our league.) The batter hits a ground ball directly to the first baseman, who fields it cleanly.

A. He should throw home to try to get the runner at the plate. If the runner scores, the other team wins so he has to get them out there.
B. He should step on first base to get the force out. When the defense makes the third out on a forced runner, the runner on third does not score even if he touches the plate before the defense makes them out.
C. He should throw to second base.

I think that the right answer would be to tag fist base and then the the ball home, because the runner on third base does not have to go home.
