The best way to tell if an exit is coming up is that when you are driving, you may notice some broken white lines that are drawn on the road at your lane’s left side. This is a sign that an exit lane is coming up.

Knowledge of such road signs is compulsory in order to pass the California permit test, or any driving license test all over the globe. Without knowledge of such signs, one cannot guarantee safety of themselves and of others on the road after all. Without passing a permit test, getting a driving license would not be possible.

When you're driving and you notice broken white lines on the left side of your lane, then that means an exit lane is coming up.
