The person would have a mass on earth but not on the moon.

"The mass would be the same on the moon as it is on Earth" is the correct answer.

There is something called the rule of matter in science. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. Now, provided that the person is not decaying in space or on earth and is alive on the other, the mass in this person would remain the exact same. This means that answer D: the mass would be the same on the moon as it is on earth.

Now, if we were talking weight, that’s a different story. Neil Armstrong lost quite a bit of weight on the moon from the lack of gravity and the ease with which he was able to spring around. That’s just the cut of the cloth, and it’s not going to change for anyone who goes to the moon. Weight changes; mass does not.

The mass would be the same on the moon as it is on Earth.

Mass is the measurement of substance in an object. Since the person would contain the same amount of substance regardless of where he/she might be, it would be the same wherever it was measured.
