How many total eggs the egg vendor was having?
The egg vendor calls on his first customer & sells half his eggs & half an egg. To the 2nd customer he sells half of what he sells half of what he had left & half an egg & to the 3rd customer he sells half what he had then left & half an egg. By the way he did not break any eggs. In the end three eggs were remaining .
None of the answers to this question are correct. For starters, a correct answer to this question would need to be an odd number. In order to not break an egg when selling eggs to the first customer, the total number of eggs would need to be odd so that 1/2 of the total number of eggs plus 1/2 egg would equal a whole number, thus not breaking an egg. All choices in this question are even numbers and divide equally, therefore when you add half an egg to the first customers order, and egg would have to be broken.
