Another helpful and more common mnemonic to help remember the symptoms of cholinergic toxicity is SLUDGE. SLUDGE stands for Salivation, Lacrimation, Urination, Defecation, Gastric upset, and Emesis. It is important to not confuse cholinergic and anticholinergic toxicity. Anticholinergic toxicity dries secretions and body fluids, while cholinergic toxity creates copious amounts of output.
