Dilation and curettage involves scraping the uterine lining and is often done after a miscarriage or to treat heavy bleeding or fibroids. It can also be done when there are complications during menopause. Many women are able to have healthy pregnancies after this procedure.
Recovery time varies especially due to the reason for the operation but should take less than a week in most cases. During the recovery time women should not attempt intercourse but instead wait according to their doctor’s instructions.
