Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria and some protistans uses the energy from sunlight to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water. This glucose can be converted into pyruvate which produces ATP also known as Adenosine Triphosphate by cellular respiration. It also form Oxygen.

The conversion of usable sunlight energy into chemical energy is what produces the green pigment in plants as chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll is a complex molecule in which Several modifications of chlorophyll occur between plants and other photosynthetic organisms. All photosynthetic organisms have chlorophyll. Accessory pigments absorbs energy that chlorophyll does not absorb.
