Dalton says atoms of a given element are identical in mass and the modern one says atoms of a given element are identical in average mass. Dalton says atoms of a different element differ in size and mass where as the modern theory says they differ in average mass. Modern theory says they atoms can be subdivided, created or destroyed by ordinay means.
