What should the second baseman do? There are no runners on base with no outs. The batter hits the ball to the left fielder. The ball bounces twice and then the left fielder fields it cleanly.





A. He should back up the throw from the left fielder to first base.
B. He should go out toward left field to relay a throw to second base.
C. He should go to second base and get ready to receive a throw-in case the batter-runner tries to get a double.
D. He should go to the dugout immediately and seal off the exits in case of a zombie attack.

The 2nd baseman shouldcover2nd base. The shortstop should go out for a cut.

He should go to second base and get ready to receive a throw in case the batter-runner tries to get a double.

Middle infielders (shortstop and second baseman) should move toward every ball hit and do the job they find: fielding the ball, covering the base, or relaying a throw.
