The answer to this question is Zinc Powder and 3.0 M HCl(aq). There are various reasons why this is the answer. First, the HCl is more concentrated than the other option which only has 1.0M HCl. This means that it will be able to break through the Zinc Powder as compared to one that only has 1.0M HCl.

Another reason is that it uses Zinc powder instead of Zinc strip. A Zinc strip is usually harder and will not be easy to get through. Take note that powder will make it possible for the zinc to not react all at once but will still react faster than the strip.

The fastest reaction rate would come from the zinc powder and 3.0 M HCL (aq). There are two main reasons for this. The first has to do with the ease of access to the hydrochloric acid. If there’s a strip of zinc (or a bar of zinc), it can’t react with all of the zinc at once due to a small surface area.

Powder has a higher surface area because it’s smaller by nature. The other reason this will get a fast reaction rate is that of the concentration of the hydrochloric acid. 3.0 M is a stronger concentration than 1.0 M. WIth a higher concentration in the acid, it has a better ability to cut through and eat through the zinc powder.
