D. Support the patient in a sitting position and wait a minute or so to see if the dizziness goes away If a patient felt dizzy when he or she tried to get up from lying down, the best thing that you can do is to support him or her to a sitting position and let the patient remain in that position for some time to check if the dizziness will go away.

You can advise the patient to breathe deeply for a few minutes to help get rid of the dizziness. If the patient feels okay after a few minutes, you can try to help the patient get up again by moving him or her slowly.
