Non-directive counseling can be confusing for a lot of people. This basically means that while a patient will be able to rely on the psychotherapist, the patient will still be the best doctor that he/she can have. The answers to the questions, to the problems, will lie within because when it comes to solving their own issues, they know themselves well enough to know what will be most effective in curing them.

The patient will have a professional relationship with a therapist wherein the therapist will be there to listen and to offer support while the patient realizes the things that should be done to solve different issues. The therapist will be tracking the client’s progress and will decide if another type of approach will be necessary.
