Mesosphere is the layer that protects you from meteors by burning them all. This layer lies directly above stratosphere and below the mesopause. In this layer of earth, the temperature is low and the altitude is high.

The mesopause is the upper boundary of the mesosphere which can also be considered as the coldest part of Earth, where the temperature is as less as -143 °C. The lower boundary of the mesosphere, is about 50 kilometers away from the earth’s surface while the upper boundary also known as mesopause is about 100 kilometers far away from the surface of Earth.
