Mona Lisa was painted by Lionardo di ser Piero da Vinci, commonly know as Leonardo da Vinci. Born in Italy on 15th April 1452 out of wedlock, died 2nd May 1519 (aged 67), whose area of interest included invention, drawing paintings, sculpting, music, mathematics, literature. He is widely considered one of the most diversely talented individuals ever to have lived, as he was also a draftsman, an architect and engineer. Leonardo is renowned primarily as a painter.

TheMona Lisais the most famous of his works, also the most famous and the mostburlesque portrait. Mona Lisa masterpiece is painted on a poplar plank, the painting presents a woman, Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo in half-body portrait, which has as a backdrop of a distant imaginary landscape.

Mona Lisa was painted sometime between 1503 and 1519, while Leonardo was living inFlorence, and it now hangs in theLouvre museum, inParis where it remained an object of pilgrimage. It is said to be the most valuable painting in the world.

According to French heritage law, she cannot not be bought or sold as the portrait is truly priceless.
