Symptoms like being constantly hot, sweaty, thirsty, and losing hair are common in patients with Hyperthyroidism. The thyroid is a large gland in the neck that secretes hormones to control metabolism. The thyroid is part of the endocrine system. Hyperthyroidism is the formal way of saying your thyroid is overactive, producing too much of the hormone thyroxine.

This increased hormone causes your metabolism to speed up, causing the forementioned symptoms. Conversely, hypothyroidism is an underactive bladder and causes chills and weight gain. Graves disease causes hypothyroidism, meaning it is not linked to the symptoms either.
