ABS is an acronym for anti-lock braking system, the safety feature of most cars that prevents the tires from locking up and losing traction on driving surfaces. It is advised that you do not pump the brakes in an emergency situation, so answers A and D are incorrect.

Although they are called "emergency brakes," it is not recommended to use the emergency brakes for a sudden stop because you can damage your car. Emergency brakes were designed to keep the car from moving when it is in the parked position.
