Correct answer is option D
Transitional phase starts from 8 – 10 cm dilation of the cervix and it starts at the second stage of labor.

The latent and the active phase of labor are part of the first stage of labor.

The latent phase is from 0 – 4 cm of cervical dilation. This phase tends to be slow.

The active phase of labor is from 4 – 8 cm of cervical dilation.

The expulsive phase is in the second stage of labor, during which the mother’s uterine contractions are accompanied by a bearing down reflex. The mother feels the urge to push. This phase ends in parturition or birth of the baby.

Transitional phase

The transitional phase of labor extends from 8 to 10 cm; it is the shortest but most difficult and intense for the patient. The latent phase extends from 0 to 3 cm; it is mild in nature. The active phase extends form 4 to 7 cm; it is moderate for the patient. The expulsive phase begins immediately after the birth and ends with separation and expulsion of the placenta.
