As soon as Friar Lawrence heard a sound he immediately ran away and left Juliet at the tomb with Romeo's corpse. By thispoint in the story, the Friar knows that Juliet is willing to kill herself over things even smaller than Romeo's death. He knew that by leaving her in the tomb, he was walking away from a dead girl. He definitelydidn't try hard or even try at all.

Well, Really he didn't really try that hard to Get Juliet to the leave. He asked her one time to leave then left that's not really convincing
