A router is object that communicates between the certain computer’s collection of terminal nodes. This is otherwise known as a network. A routing protocol provides routes for the routers to move information to another router. Link state routing protocols are about communications in computers so that the data is grouped so that it can be efficiently transported over the network.

Some of these include the Intermediate system to intermediate system and open shortest path first. These protocols is only one of two types that exists for routing protocols. Regarding the link-state routing protocols, they are aware of the complete network topology and they offer rapid convergence times in large networks. It is believed that these protocols began in the mid-1970s by Plessey Radar.
