The answer to this question is E. This polar bear is relying on the density of the water in relation to the ice cap. The density of water is what allows all things, including animals, to float. Since this polar bear is standing on a small ice cap which is floating, the density of the water is what is allowing the bear to stay afloat.

This shows that the ice cap has a higher density than the water it is floating on. If something with a higher density than water is placed in water it will sink to the bottom. Therefore this ice cap must have a lower density than the water below.

The answer to this is E. Density. There are problems that the world is facing right now that cannot be ignored anymore. The melting ice caps in the north pole is just one of the issues. More and more animals are finding it harder to live because the earth is getting warmer.

Based on this picture alone, the polar bear is on top of the ice that is floating on water. It is clear that the ice cap is relying on density so that it will float. This means that ice is less dense as compared to water. Those that are denser than water will immediately float to the bottom.
