Towards the end of mitosis, telophase begins. It is the fifth and final stage of mitosis and also the final stage of meiosis. It begins once the replicated, paired chromosomes have been separated and pulled to the opposite poles of the cells.
The small nuclear vesicles in the cell begin to reform around the group of chromosomes at each end. Telophase is also marked by the dissolution of the kinetochore microtubules and the continued elongation of the polar microtubules. As the nuclear envelop begin to reform, the chromosomes begin to de - condense and become more diffuse.
