The correct answer to this question is Endosperm. Found in plants, the endosperm is known as a food reserve tissue. This is because it provides nutrition to plants through starch. It can also provide nutrition through oil and protein. The endosperm is essential to humans, through cereal plants.

There is also wheat endosperm, which is what makes wheat flour and wheat bread. Another example of endosperm is barley endosperm. That is important for the production of beer. These are just some of the examples of endosperm that is edible. Others include coconut meat and coconut water. All plants do not have endosperm. One plant that doesn't is an orchid.
