Are your other characters generally impressed by Mary Sue character?

For example my character is quite old and has spent almost his entire life fighting, he has took part in wars so his skills will be better than most younger, so yes, other characters will be impressed with his skill because he has spent his life honing them for the sole purpose of using them.

He is also impressed by other characters as well and expresses as much to them, so it works both ways in the way characters are impressed by him and his skill and he is impressed by them and their skill.
