What is the name of a small bowl that is given to a priest to wash his hands during the liturgy of the Eucharist?

The answer to this is The finger bowl. There are a lot of items that the priest uses during the mass that people may not be familiar to by name. They all have different meanings and significance. The finger bowl is also known as lavabo. This serves as the dish wherein the priest will wash his hands in preparation for the gifts that will be received during the offertory.

The chalice is the cup that holds the wine that will signify the blood of Christ. The purificator, on the other hand, is the white linen cloth. It is used to wipe the chalice and the paten that held the hold bread after communion.

The small bowl that the Priest uses to was his hands prior to the consecration of the Eucharist is actually called a Lavabo.
