There were total four ghosts in Charles Dickens's novella, A Christmas Carol. The first ghost was Jacob Marley's ghost, and the other three were the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.

A Christmas Carol depicts the story of an elderly miser, Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by four ghosts one-by-one at his house. After the visit of these ghosts, he gets transformed into a kind-hearted gentleman.
