The answer is incorrect here. John's explanation above is accurate. The NAB prep study book 'The Principles of Healthcare Administration by Townsend & Davis (2002 updated 2013), pg. 337 states - "The Life Safety Code is promulgated by the NFPA for the purpose of ensuring residents, staff and visitors a reasonable degree of safety from fire." Nothing is mentioned in that book or anywhere else that I've seen about local fire departments, etc. Get it fixed...
