When you say “solve,” you mean to say that you are going to fix a problem right from the very beginning. This means that at the onset of a problem, you are already going to try to fix whatever the issue is. When you say “resolve,” you mean to say that this is something that you are going to end.

This is something that you would need to settle so that you can reach the right conclusion. A lot of people are not aware that when you resolve something, this means that you have undergone a lot of deliberation and discussion to reach the right conclusion.

Solve and resolve are two types of words of the English language. Sometimes, people will use them interchangeably. This is because of their spelling, however, there are many differences between the two words, especially when it comes to the context of each word.

Solve is a verb. It is often used when a person is used to find a solution to a problem. For example, a person studying math would use the word to solve a problem. Resolve can be used as both a noun or a verb. It can be used to describe settling an issue between people or different parties.

The reason why people tend to use the words "solve" and "resolve" interchangeably is that they are almost the same when you check their spellings. However, one of the major differences between the two is that they are not totally similar in terms of meaning, plus they can't be used in the same context to convey the same information.

One of the areas where you find people using the word "solve" the most is when they are trying to find a solution to a particular problem, at least this is very common in subjects like mathematics, and other related subjects. So, it won't make any sense trying to replace the word "solve" with "resolve" in this instance.

Another difference is that the word "solve" is a verb with several meanings, while the word "resolve" is both a noun and a verb. As a verb, it can be used to settle differences between two or more parties. It also means to make a firm decision to do something. As a noun, it means determination or the act of resolving something.

This concept reveals that solve is simply a way of unravelling a problem and achieving a straightforward solution. While resolve different meanings, it can be used as a noun and also as a verb. Resolve can mean to profer a solution to a problem existing between two or more parties. Resolve when used as a verb could mean different things including a decision made to take an action. It can refer to the ability to distinguish elements of a problem and resolve them. A resolved problem is not necessarily the solution everyone may want but it is a conclusion reached so the problem is resolved.
