The word spiritual is used mostly to describe something that pertains to the spirit or the soul. This usually has to do with our personal convictions or beliefs about things that draw our spirit and soul very close to certain phases of the spirit world.

At times, our action when we are in our most heightened unconscious state is a testament that we are spiritual beings. Most religions on earth acknowledge the spiritual realm, and most of these religions teach their followers to engage in some spiritual exercises so that they can be connected to the spiritual realm.

On the other hand, rituals are rites that are used during certain religious programs or ceremonies. At times, the 'word' ritual means an organized system of worship that has been put in place for certain religious activities. The word 'ritual' can also be used to refer to certain practices that are done repeatedly.

Everyone has certain beliefs that they hold to be true to their heart. Spiritual and rituals are two types of things that people can believe in. Spiritual is related to the soul. It is a part of the human that cannot be explained and it is beyond the physical being of a person.

This word can also be related to God and where people connect with him. Another use of the word spiritual is to connect with those who are no longer physically here. Ritual is a rite that is acted on. A ritual can also be spiritual, depending on what the person believes in.

Spiritual and ritual are two different words that have different meanings. The two words can be used in both noun and adjective form in a sentence though, but they are not related in meaning. Foremost, spiritual is considered a term that is pertaining to the spirit or soul; an abstract and unexplainable part of the human that goes a bit farther beyond the normal human physical understanding.

Spiritual is also term that is used in pertaining to God or a sacred place (of worship). Spiritual is pertaining to a realm that cannot be contacted just by the human psychology or physical medium. Should I say? It takes the spiritual to contact the spiritual.

Ritual, on the other hand, is simply pertaining to a kind of rite that is being carried out consistently. As a matter of fact, there is a very close relationship between ritual and rite; probably that would make you have more understanding of it. Ritual is simply related to a custom, which can actually be spiritual.
