Oftentimes Muslims and Arabs are stereotyped to belong to one group. However, not all Arabs are Muslims.

Muslims are individuals that embrace religion, Islam. Muslims use different types of language since they reside anywhere in the world. Most times, the reason why Arabs and Muslims are used interchangeably is that religion originated from the Arab region. As of 2009, the population of Muslims around the world is 1.5 billion.

Arabs are individuals that dwell in the Arab region. They speak the Arabic language. The Arabs live mostly within the Middle Eastern nations, which include Syria, Arabia, and Iraq. As of 2009, the population of the Arabs was a sum of several million. Lastly, Arab is a type of nationality or ethnicity.

A Muslim is the follower of the religion of Islam, while there are Muslim Arabs and Christian Arabs. Muslims spend their whole lives devoted to the religion of Islam, as they follow the Quran, which is the Muslim equivalent to the Bible.

When it comes to the Quran, Muslims testify that the word of God was disclosed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Muslims pray several times a day. Arabs, on the other hand, is a name given which matches the place from where people come. It is not associated with a religion.

Not all Arabs are necessarily Muslim, and the Arab population is far less than the Muslim, and most Muslims do belong to a sect according to their beliefs.

Ethnicity is a race or culture that a person identifies with. Arab is the ethnicity of a person. Religion is what a person believes in. Muslims are used to describe those that believe in the religion of Islam. Though some people like to use those terms individually, these are two different terms, and they do not mean the same thing. An Arab can be a Muslim, but not all Muslims are Arabs. Muslims can come in many different ethnicities including African-American, Caucasian, or Greek. As Arab is an ethnic group, these people speak their own language, whereas Muslims can speak many languages depending on the ethnicity of the Muslim.
